Coastal English Gin
The Isle of Wight influence shines through in this London Dry at 42%. There's a subtle maritime freshness that sets it apart. Rock samphire and local botanicals give it genuine sense of place.
8 March 2026Underrated Nordic Gem
This doesn't get enough attention. The Nordic botanicals give it a fresh, almost forest-like quality that sets it apart from the usual London Dry offerings. Beautifully clean spirit.
1 December 2025My Desert Island Gin
If I could only have one gin forever, this would be it. The fresh grapefruit lifts everything, the liquorice adds depth, and that 47.3% ABV gives it proper presence. Perfect in a martini.
20 November 2025Devilishly good branding
The name and packaging are eye-catching, and fortunately the London Dry liquid at 40% backs it up. Clean juniper with well-balanced botanicals — a solid gin that deserves attention.
20 March 2026Perfect for Cocktails
This gin was born for cocktails. The Luxardo sour cherry adds gorgeous colour and flavour to any mix. The London Dry style at 37.5% means it plays well with others.
4 January 2026Sweet but Slightly One-Note
The Old Tom sweetness at 41% is pleasant but I found the overall profile a bit simple. The sugar note dominates and the botanical complexity takes a back seat. Good but not exciting.
12 April 2026Technical masterwork
Hepple at 45% is a triumph of distilling technique. The combination of pot still, vacuum, and CO2 extraction creates a London Dry of extraordinary clarity and depth. The juniper is vivid and the lighter botanicals shine. Truly exceptional.
19 December 2025Star anise makes this special
What sets this apart is the star anise working alongside that pepperberry tingle. The nose is incredible — bold juniper with cinnamon and citrus peel. At 41.8% it's got enough weight to stand up in a G&T without being overpowering.
15 April 2026Textbook London Dry
This is London Dry done right. Bold juniper, coriander seed warmth, angelica root earthiness — everything in its proper place. At 41.6% it's rounded and generous. The marmalade citrus is a lovely flourish.
5 January 2026Too Floral for My Palate
The hibiscus, violet, rose petals, mallows, and lavender make for an intensely floral gin at 43%. If you love floral gins it's excellent, but for me the flowers overwhelm the juniper backbone.
19 November 2025Classic old-school character
There's something wonderfully nostalgic about cracking open a bottle of Gilbey's from this era. Clean juniper profile with that unmistakeable 1980s London Dry style — no frills, just well-made gin.
21 November 2025Spiced and powerful
The spiced, aromatic profile at 57% is deeply warming. The Bathtub method gives it a rough-around-the-edges charm that's actually quite appealing. A Navy Strength for those who want something different.
1 January 2026Too Floral for Me
The elderflower dominates here and pushes the gin into overly floral territory for my taste. The gooseberry is pleasant but gets somewhat lost. At 40% it also feels a touch light.
27 January 2026Layers upon layers
Vibrant and layered is the perfect way to describe this. The lemon myrtle brightness hits first, then the river mint coolness, then the dorrigo pepper warmth. Beautifully constructed from start to finish.
30 January 2026Interesting but Inconsistent
The wild-foraged approach means each batch at 41% varies slightly, which can be frustrating. Some bottles are exceptional, others are merely good. The London Dry base is solid throughout though.
1 February 2026Rhubarb Done Properly
So many flavoured gins taste artificial but this one genuinely captures real rhubarb character. The ginger warmth on the finish is a masterstroke. Edinburgh know what they're doing with their flavoured range.
17 December 2025The original Plymouth style
Plymouth is the only gin with its own geographical designation, and at 41.2% the softer, earthier style is distinctive. More rounded than London Dry, with a gentle sweetness. A gin with genuine heritage.
26 November 2025Well-Crafted Island Gin
Mermaid Gin from the Isle of Wight at 42% ABV is a London Dry with real personality. The local botanicals add character and the overall balance is impressive. Great in a G&T with a cucumber ribbon.
24 February 2026Dutch but not distinctive
De Borgen at 40.8% is a Dutch gin that follows the London Dry template without adding much Dutch personality. The juniper is clean, the botanicals are balanced, but I expected more of the malty, genever-influenced character that could make a Dutch London Dry special. Pleasant but forgettable.
20 January 2026Tokyo Sophistication
Ukiyo captures the essence of Tokyo in a beautifully crafted London Dry. At 40% ABV the Japanese botanicals create a delicate, refined profile with yuzu and sakura notes. Exquisite.
